World Aids Day

by Bishop Makaela

Today, as we commemorated World Aids Day, we remembered those who are affected and infected by HIV/AIDS. During our prayers of intercession, we prayed for them.

Today we also took time to show our dissatisfaction against women and children abuse and encouraged our members to fight against children and women abuse. Our sermon series on the book of Colossians 3:18-25 was in line with the day as we looked at the relationship between parent and child. Let’s continue to pray for the end of this pandemic.

Please refer to the GALLERY for pictures taken at our commemoration.

Soup Kitchen and  Sewing Class Year End

Today, we had a wonderful end-of-year celebration at our soup kitchen. We celebrated and thanked our volunteers, who are here every Thursday from

We also thank Siya for faithfully leading, organizing, preaching, and managing the soup kitchen project for years.

We thank the sewing class ladies who also donated aprons, which they made themselves, to the soup kitchen volunteers.

We want to thank members of our church, through their tithes and offerings, for enabling us to run this soup kitchen for over 14 years now. We also thank St Stephens Bible Church for its continued support with donated food, soup, and other ingredients. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributes to our soup kitchen. Thank you.

The Passing of Sister Thuli

by Bishop Makapela

It is with sadness to announce that our dear sister in the Lord Mrs Thuli Zono-Sazela has passed on in the early hours of this morning. Thuli was our music ministry leader. She was also an intern in our house church. Thuli, a soldier of Christ, died in the line of duty. This weekend she attended the house church lay leaders training and on her way back to Cape Town she started experiencing shortness of breath. Thuli served the Lord tirelessly, wholeheartedly and with distinction at our church.

She often remarked that, during times of illness, her children would implore her to refrain from attending the service. However, she would respond that she preferred to pass away while participating in the service, dedicating her final moments to the service of God.

Music ministry is not going to be the same. Thuli will be dearly missed by our congregation. Deepest condolences to Sazela and Zono families, to her daughter Asemahle and the Christ Church Strand family.

Charles Simeon Trust Visit

by Conwell Muyambo

We thank God for the Charles Simeon Trust we had at St. James Church. It helped us so much to come back to our exegesis preaching structure. We were reminded once again of all the steps we needed to take regarding sermon preparation.

One of the most powerful steps we got was the gospel connection in our sermon. In every passage in the Bible, there is a gospel connection. We need to point people to Jesus Christ each time we preach.

Sewing Room Storm Damage
by Bishop Makapela

On Saturday night, 6th April, a severe storm impacted the Cape Town region. High winds, reaching gale-force strength, resulted in significant damage to our sewing room. Approximately half of the roof sheeting was dislodged and removed by the wind.

Upon initial inspection of the interior, it was discovered that some sewing machines had been displaced and are currently scattered across the floor. The extent of any damage sustained by the machines is yet to be determined.

We kindly request your thoughts and prayers during this challenging time.

The 8:00 am English Service
by Bishop Makapela

In recognition of the growing number of non-isiXhosa-speaking residents within our community, and acknowledging a gap in our ability to fully serve them, the church implemented an English language service in July 2018. Held on Sunday afternoons, the service aimed to expand our reach. Despite dedicated outreach efforts, the initiative faced challenges. Unfortunately, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns ultimately led to the cessation of this service.

Recognizing the limitations of the afternoon service, we relaunched the English service in 2021 and strategically transitioned it to a more convenient time slot of 8:00 am beginning in 2022. This adjustment has demonstrably improved the program's reach and effectiveness under the leadership of Conwell Muyambo.

We are pleased to report a growing congregation and the witnessing of new believers coming to know Christ through this service. A recent highlight was the baptism of two individuals who found faith through the 8:00 am English service, a testament to the program's success.  Furthermore, we are excited to announce that a member of the English service congregation will be attending House Church Lay Leaders Training in Johannesburg to develop their skills as a shepherd within the community.

We thank God for Pastor Conwell Muyambo and his wife Lindiwe who are leading this service very well.

Please pray:

  • For more people, especially the none Xhosa speakers, to come to know Jesus.

  • For the 8:00 am Service to grow in numbers.

  • For more singers and musicians who can play instruments.

  • Pray for members to grow in their relationship with Jesus.

  • Pray for Pastor Conwell and Lindiwe to be patient with God’s people as they assist them in their walk with the Lord.

  • Pray also for Pastor Conwell and Lindi that the Lord will provide for them according to their needs.

We also have to inform you that the complimentary use of the campsite, which has been enjoyed by many of us for several years, will conclude in 2025. Your support will be much appreciated.

A Fruitful Weekend with the Director of House Church Ministry Southern Africa

by Bishop Peter Makapela

This past weekend, we had the privilege of hosting Rev. Enoch Lee, the Director of House Church Ministry Southern Africa, and his wife Helen. My wife and I cherished the opportunity to spend quality time with this inspiring couple, enjoying fellowship over meals, engaging in ministry discussions, and uniting in prayer.

Saturday: Equipping Pastoral Couples for House Church Implementation

On Saturday, Pastor Enoch dedicated time to equipping pastoral couples who are actively implementing the house church model. The three hours we spent together were truly valuable, filled with insightful guidance and practical strategies for nurturing vibrant house churches.

Sunday: A Celebration of Grace and Gratitude

Sunday was a day overflowing with blessings. Pastor Enoch delivered a powerful sermon on the theme of God's Grace, leaving the congregation uplifted and inspired. He also had the honour of presenting certificates to those who successfully completed the Living Life Bible Study series, recognizing their dedication to spiritual growth.

The spirit of thanksgiving permeated the entire service as we expressed our gratitude to one another through gifts and words of appreciation. We also took time to celebrate the extraordinary efforts of our shepherds and ministry leaders throughout the year, acknowledging their tireless contributions in their respective areas of service.

A Weekend of Deep Connections and Renewed Purpose

This weekend was more than just a series of events; it was a profound time of connection, growth, and renewed purpose. We were enriched by Pastor Enoch's wisdom and leadership, and we felt a strengthened sense of unity and camaraderie within our church community. As we move forward, we carry the inspiration and lessons learned from this special weekend, forever grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and celebrate together.

House Church Pastors Conference

by Bishop Peter Makapela

My Wife and I attended a Pastors House Church Conference, held between the 29th of November and the 2nd of December, in Johannesburg. There were 28 in attendance including about 13 pastoral couples. It was encouraging to meet fellow Pastors. The chats we had over breaks and meals, included sharing about our struggles in ministry.

Mostly we were taken through the short training called LIFE OF RESTORATION. In this, we learned more about inner healing.

We learned about:

1. Inferiority Complex

2. Depression

3. Shame

4. Forgiveness

We hope to run this training at our Church in 2024.

Statement on World AIDS Day

by Bishop Peter Makapela

Today is World AIDS DAY and we remember those who have died due to HIV-related diseases. We also remember those who are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.

During the late 1980s and the 1990s, many of our close friends died due to HIV-related diseases. The situation is better now because many people can access ARVs for free in their clinics, thanks to organizations like the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) and Zachie Achmat who fought hard for this. One thing positive about the government of Mr Zuma was that, when they came to power, they released money so that people could have access to ARVs for free.

We hereby remind society that HIV/AIDS is still alive and infecting and so we encourage society to act wisely.

For those who are infected, we encourage you to please take your ARVs faithfully daily.

We call upon the church community to be good Samaritans, to have an eye on their communities, to identify families that need food, and to provide meals to those in need because people cannot take ARVs on empty stomachs.

We call upon all government spheres to support soup kitchens operating in our communities as these soup kitchens are addressing the issue of poverty that is ravaging our society and is causing problems for people living with HIV/AIDS, as they cannot take ARVs on empty stomachs.

We hereby also remind the church community of important biblical principles to prevent further infections:

1. If not married ABSTAIN from sex.

2. If you are married, stick to one partner.

The rate of teenage pregnancy is worrying, even within our churches, which shows that people are not ABSTAINING or condomising.

We also encourage people to know their status. Please go get tested so that you know your status.

Let us pray:

"Lord God, You know us to be set in the midst of so many great dangers that by reason of the frailty of our nature we cannot always stand upright: grant us such strength and protection as may support us in all dangers and carry us through all temptations; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen."

Somlandela Pre-School's Graduation and Ongoing Needs

by Mpumi Makapela

Recognizing the absence of preschool facilities in the neighbouring area, the Church established a preschool in 2012.

On Saturday, November 25, 2023, Somlandela Pre-School celebrated its 11th graduation ceremony, marking a significant milestone for the school and the community it serves. Twenty-three Grade R learners proudly graduated, ready to embark on their next chapter in primary education.

The establishment of Somlandela Pre-School in 2012 was a pivotal moment in the Nomzamo community, addressing the lack of early childhood education facilities in the vicinity. Since then, the school has flourished, employing 6 full-time staff and a few temporals and welcoming approximately 68 learners between the ages of 3 and 6 (Grade R). From Monday to Friday, the school provides nutritious meals, including breakfast and lunch, for its students.

As the school continues to nurture and guide young minds, it humbly seeks the continued prayers and support of the community. The school's jungle gym is in need of renovation, and additional resources such as mattresses, spoons, plastic plates, cups, and toys would greatly enhance the learning environment. Additionally, ongoing financial support is crucial to sustain the school's operations and ensure its long-term success.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Mrs. Mpumi Makapela, Principal, Somlandela Pre-School

Our End of Year Soup Kitchen Closing Ceremony

by Bishop Peter Makapela

Today we gathered for our heartwarming end-of-year soup kitchen closing ceremony.

On this special day, we prepared a delectable meal to share with everyone who attended. We also expressed our deepest gratitude to our dedicated volunteers, who tirelessly serve God's people every Thursday from 8 am to 3 pm. Their unwavering commitment to peeling, cooking, serving, and washing large pots is truly admirable. We are incredibly grateful for these selfless mothers who, despite their own unemployment, generously give up their time to serve others. Today, we had the privilege of presenting them with a small token of appreciation for their invaluable contributions.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Siya, the driving force behind this remarkable ministry.

We are immensely grateful to everyone who has generously supported our soup kitchen financially. At the end of 2022, our church council faced the difficult decision to discontinue the ministry due to a lack of funds. However, your unwavering support at the beginning of 2023 enabled us to resume our ministry, allowing us to continue reaching out to those in need. Your kindness and generosity have made a profound impact on countless lives.

Thank you to everyone who has played a role in making our soup kitchen a success. Your collective efforts have nourished the bodies and spirits of many. We are truly blessed by your unwavering support.

The ladies in the church who participate in the sewing ministry also took time to appreciate Dorcas Kanyenda for her dedication and hard work. Dorcas volunteers her time every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to teach these ladies how to sew. We are incredibly grateful for her generosity and expertise.

The dresses that the ladies are wearing in this closing ceremony are dresses that they have made for themselves with their own hands. This is a testament to the skills they have learned through the sewing ministry.

As a church, our aim is to empower community members to develop marketable skills so that they can start their own businesses. The next stage of our program is to provide business training to these ladies. We pray that the Lord will bring us the right people to guide them on how to start and run their businesses successfully.

Our Wendy House, where we conduct these training sessions, is in a dire state of disrepair and cannot be salvaged. It is becoming increasingly hazardous to continue using this facility. We are seeking funding to either purchase a 12x3 convertible container or a new 12x3 Wendy House.

Our sewing machines are also old and require frequent repairs. We are in urgent need of new sewing machines to ensure the continuation of our sewing ministry.

Please keep us in your prayers as we strive to continue empowering these ladies through the sewing ministry.

Please refer to the GALLERY page for pictures taken at this event.

by Siya Zotani

We are grateful to God for the following community development projects: soup kitchen, garden, and sewing. We have mothers who have cooked at the soup kitchen since it began, and we have seen God provide for his people through the Word of God. All of these projects are designed to develop our community. Please continue to pray for us, so that more people may come to know the Lord.

Missions Expo
Saturday, September 16, 2023
by Rev Peter Makapela

A few members of our congregation attended the Missions Expo on Saturday. However, we hope that by exposing our church members to missions, the Lord will raise up missionaries from our church to go out and serve Him. The expo was an eye-opening experience for those who attended, as they saw the work that the Lord is doing through His people from all over the world.

Cutting Edge Youth Rally
Saturday, September 16, 2023
by Thembelani, Philile, and Palesa

The Cutting Edge Youth Rally, held at St. James Church Kenilworth, was a success. Our teens enjoyed socializing with other teens from different churches, and the sermon was aligned with our goal of training teenagers to share the gospel with their parents so that their parents can also be saved.

The sermon, based on Romans 10:3–17, motivated teens to share the gospel of Christ with others, explaining that faith comes from hearing the message. So, this passage was used to explain why it is important to preach about Christ.

Meeting with other teenagers is helpful because our teenagers now recognize that our teachings on Fridays are consistent with the teachings of other Christian teachers. We would like to thank the Church Council for their financial support, and we hope that this support will continue in the future.

If God is willing, we plan to have a sports day with Christ Church Khayelitsha and Masi in order to build relationships. In December, we hope to take as many teens as possible to the Crossword Youth Camp. The cost of the camp is over R1100 per child, and any help towards this cost would be greatly appreciated.

Visit to KZN

by Rev Peter Makapela

I arrived in KZN on Friday and had the privilege of being invited by my colleagues to their engagement meeting with the Principal of GWC, Rev. Dr. Mark Dickson. The meeting was productive, and Mark clearly shared his vision for lay training and the long-term goals of GWC. We also had the opportunity to ask questions.

On Friday evening, I preached at the Holy Trinity Church Lamontville revival service. I also preached at the same church on Sunday. It is encouraging to see what the Lord is doing in this church through the Sbisi family. Sboniso and his wife were placed as students in our church while they were at GWC. They are hosting me in their home for the duration of the synod.

I would like to ask you to pray for our 2023 Synod, which begins tonight with the Holy Communion service. I, Peter Makapela, will be preaching at the service. Please pray for me as I prepare to deliver the message.

Thank you for your prayers and support.

House Church Shepherds Conference

by Rev Peter Makapela
What a wonderful time we had at the House Church Shepherds Conference held between 31 August and 2 September. About 90 were in attendance from different parts of our country and Botswana. Two of our shepherds and I were also in attendance. Listening to the shepherds sharing how God is working in their lives, churches, and their house churches was encouraging. The relational evangelism training received today was wow👌.

It was worth the travelling and money spent. A big thanks to all the people who met us halfway to cover the travelling costs and conference fees. Thank you Bazalwane.

REACH SA Women's Conference

by Rev Peter Makapela
On Saturday our ladies attended the Cape Town REACH SA Women’s Conference held at St James Church, Kenilworth. This was a great time of fellowship for our ladies, meeting with other ladies from sister churches.

Please continue to pray for ladies in our church to continue to grow in their relationship with Christ. Pray that more ladies will come to our church, hear the gospel, and come to know Christ. Pray that the Lord will raise amongst these ladies those who will raise up their hands and say here am I Lord, use me.

REACH SA Eastern Cape Men's Convention
by Rev Peter Makapela

I was in Gqeberha this weekend preaching at the REACH SA Eastern Cape Men's Convention. I preached through the book of 1 Timothy. It was a great time of fellowship and prayer. I also preached at Emmanuel Church in Lorraine. It was great to catch up with my colleagues in ministry, Andre Kruger, Kyle Barrows, and their families. I also met with Kenny Lloyd and had the privilege of ministering at their kid’s ministry programme in Walmer Township.

It was really exciting for me to see what my brothers are doing in that part of the world and their passion to see the work of the Lord extended.

Please pray for the above-mentioned ministers and their congregations. Pray that God will open doors for us in the Eastern Cape to plant more churches. Pray for the revival of our churches in East London and Mclear (Nqanqarhu).

Today 12 August 2023 we had our women's conference. We were joined by our sister churches uBabalo Nethemba and Christ Church Khayelitsha.

Our main speaker Mrs Msomi took us through
Mathew 6:24-36 "Seek you first the kingdom of God"

Mrs Ngubane motivated ladies to serve the Lord in church, even if their gift looks invisible.
We had a wonderful time of worship and fellowship as sisters in the Lord. We thank God for His word.

Klapmuts
by Nkuleko Msomi

Eight teenagers from Klapmuts had the opportunity to attend a camp where they grew in their knowledge of Christ and fellowship with other Christians. We are grateful to God for what He is doing in Klapmuts, and we are particularly encouraged by the recent addition of several young boys who have given their lives to Jesus. We pray that they will continue to grow in their faith and knowledge of Christ.

We also had the opportunity to learn about the work of Khula, an organization that provides care and support to parents and children who are struggling with stress, anxiety, drug addiction, and depression. Khula offers counseling, prayer, and other resources to help those in need. They also play with children to provide them with the love and attention they deserve.

As we eagerly await the day when we will be able to start Sunday services in Klapmuts, we pray that the Lord will provide us with a suitable venue. We know that this is a big ask, but we believe that with His help, all things are possible.

In the meantime, we are asking for your prayers as I prepare to preach a series on Luke's Gospel. We pray that the Holy Spirit will use these sermons to transform people's lives and bring them closer to Christ. We also pray that the Lord will save more lives through our ministry.

We know that we cannot do this on our own, but with your prayers, we believe that we can make a difference in the lives of many people. Thank you for your support.

Preaching Workshop
by Rev Peter Makapela

Pastors Conwell and Nkululeko attended the Simeon Trust preaching workshop this week. This workshop is continuous training for Pastors and is geared towards sharpening the Pastor's skill in preaching. In this workshop, they trained in preaching through the Book of Revelation

"The workshop caught my attention to learn that Revelation has many allusions and images from the OT. Therefore, this could help me to have an understanding of what the images or symbols could possibly mean". NKULULEKO.

"The workshop reminded me again of how to preach a good sermon. It also shaped my framework and thinking. It is always nice to allow the Scripture to go above my framework." CONWELL

Painting on Mandela Day

by Rev Peter Makapela

On Mandela Day, we celebrated the legacy of Nelson Mandela by painting our preschool. This was made possible by the generous donation by Christina Stanton from LOVING ALL NATIONS (LAN). The new paint job has brightened up our preschool and created a more welcoming environment for our students. This was a much-needed project, as our preschool had required a fresh coat of paint for some time. We are grateful to Christina and LAN for their support.

Christ Church Strand, 10 am Service
Theme: Christian Fellowship and its Benefits

by Conwell Muyambo

Today's Service

Today's service was a wonderful opportunity to worship God and fellowship with one another. We were honoured to have guest speaker Rev. Dr. Siegfried Ngubane, who preached a message on Christian fellowship and its benefits from Acts 2:42-47. Rev. Ngubane's message was both informative and inspiring, and it challenged us to deepen our relationships with God and with each other.

We also celebrated Holy Communion, which was led by Rev. Ngubane. This was a special time to come together as a community and to reflect on the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
See the GALLERY for pictures taken at the service on 16 July 2023.

Visiting Guests

We were also blessed to have visiting guests from the United States, Christina and Brian Stanton, and their friend Anrie. Christina and Brian are passionate about sharing their faith with young people, and they took a group of over 20 teenagers out on Friday, July 14, 2023. They spent some time at Somerset Mall, watched a movie at the cinema, and ate lunch together. Christina and Brian also took time to teach the teenagers from the Bible.

We are grateful for the Stantons' visit, and we look forward to seeing them again soon.

The Sewing Project

by Siya Zotani

Our project equips the community with sewing skills. We teach participants from the ground up, including how to operate machines, design patterns, and cut fabric. We began the semester by teaching how to design small items, such as bags and peg bags. We are now working on full-length flare dresses. Most of the ladies are nearing completion of their dresses, which are absolutely beautiful. We are excited to see the progress and commitment of these wonderful ladies.

Please pray for our project so that we can share the gospel and equip the community. Your prayers will help us to continue to provide this valuable service to our community.

Young Adult Camp Report

by Conwell Muyambo
(7 to 9 July 2023)

On Friday evening, 26 of us arrived at the retreat centre. After introductions, we had supper and then a session with our guest speaker, Pastor Yose.

Pastor Yose's theme was "Glorify God with your bodies." He based his talk on 1 Corinthians 1:1-3, which talks about our identity in Christ. He pointed out that we are set apart and made holy by God. He also referred to 1 Corinthians 6:19.

On Saturday morning, we had devotion from Jeremiah 2:1-9, led by Brother Richard. After breakfast, Sister Aphiwe led a session, followed by another session with Pastor Yose.

Pastor Yose taught us about the importance of glorifying God with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). He emphasized that sex outside of marriage is wrong and that we should wait until we are married. He also said that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:20) and that we should treat them with respect.

After the session, we played games led by Brother Phumezi and Sister Okuhle. The games were all about teamwork, and they encouraged us to work together.

In the afternoon, we had a separate session for men and women. The women met with Mrs Muyambo and Mrs Yose, and the men met with Pastor Yose and Pastor Muyambo. We discussed matters of the heart and had a fruitful time.

In the evening, we had a braai (barbecue) and then continued our discussions. Pastor Yose talked about marriage and answered our questions.

On Sunday, we had our last devotion and brunch together. We then had our last session with Pastor Yose.

We all learned a lot during the camp, and we are grateful to Pastor Yose for his teaching. We are also grateful to the organizers for putting together such a wonderful event.

Teenager Camp Report
by Conwell Muyambo

(2 to 7 July 2023)

Theme: The camp aimed to show that Jesus Christ is God who revealed Himself to us through miracles (John 20:30-31). The speakers discussed seven miracles from the book of John, and they also shared their personal testimonies of how they met Christ. The reason we chose this theme was to help teenagers grow in their knowledge of Christ and be able to answer unbelievers' questions about their faith.

Every camp day began with group devotions from 8:00 to 9:00 AM. Breakfast and dishes followed. All the teenagers worked together to prepare meals and wash dishes. Then each day had its specific program as follows:

On Monday and Tuesday, there were two sessions in the morning and one session before supper.
On Monday Brother Thembela, a GWC student, covered the first miracle in the book of John, which is Jesus turning water into wine. In the afternoon, the teenagers played games in groups.
On Tuesday Brother Philile led worship and prayer, and the teenagers responded well. He then covered the second miracle, the royal official's son being healed. The day ended with a game and a testimony from one of the leaders.

On Wednesday, there were three sessions: morning, afternoon, and evening.

Feedback: The teenagers and leaders were grateful for the support and finances that were provided by the church. They were also pleased with the way the camp was designed, and they felt that they had grown in their knowledge of Christ.

Report on the Sunday 8 am Service held on 2 July 2023
by Conwell Muyambo

During English service Sunday Pastor Conwell preached from Romans 8: 18-26.
In this passage, Paul deals with the very real problem of suffering and pain. Perhaps the way to understand this section is to note three “groans" that are discussed:
1.    Creation groans (vv 18-22)

2.    We believers groan (vv 23-25)
3.    The Holy Spirit groans (vv25-30)

Paul’s main point is that when we groan, we do not groan alone. God cares for us so much. How can we Christians ever be discouraged and frustrated when we already share the glory of God? Our suffering today only guarantees that much more glory when Jesus Christ returns! Please be strengthened that God is with us, Jesus is with us and he feels our pain. If you don’t know Jesus today, may you consider it a wonderful thing to accept Jesus as your personal Saviour. If you know Jesus Christ, l want you to know that there is someone who is closer to you, more than your friend, more than your family, more than your relative, more than your doctor. Jesus Christ is closer to us, more than anyone. He is closer than your friend and he is worthy to be trusted.

Children's Camp Report
by Conwell Muyambo

(25-30 June 2023)

We had 35 children from grade 2 through to grade 7. We also had 5 leaders in total.
Most of the topics came from the book of James and dealt with the practical life of a Christian.

The children had 6 lessons throughout the camp. The outline was as follows:
1. Introduction of James (1:1-4)
2. Seeing the trials of life in a different light (1:5-8)
3. Satan’s playground (1:9-18)
4. Words, words, words (1:19-27)
5. Don't play favourites (2:1-12)
6. Faith without works is dead(2:13-18)

It was a fruitful camp because we had morning devotions together from the book of Romans.
We thank God that 2 children received Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour.

We had interesting activities every day that helped children to grow in their faith. All these games were linked to Bible verses for example:

1. Angry ping pong = It was about the effect of anger. Ephesians 4:26-27
2. Elephant stampede = It was about the benefits of teamwork. 1 Corinthians 12:20-25
3. Cotton nose = It was about encouraging others. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
4. Ballon bop = It was about  God's commandments.

On  the 3rd day (Wednesday)
We had our talent show. The aim was to show their talents and creativity. We allowed  5 children to play the following characters:
1. The single mother who died leaving her children alone with no one to look after them.
2. The bullies at school.
3. The Gossip at church.
4. Teenage pregnancy.
5. The wife who killed her husband.

On the 4th day (Thursday)
We had inside games and a movie night.
We had time to praise God.

The purpose of this camp was to give the children opportunities to learn more about Jesus Christ. We wanted children also to spend their holidays in a more useful way.

The Community Garden Project
by Rev Peter Makapela

We're so excited to share some good news about our community garden project. We started it in 2019, and at the start, there was amazing participation. Then covid struck and participation dramatically declined. However, this project is now being started up again.
We're offering training to community members on how to garden, even if they have limited space at home. Our goal is to train between 50 and 100 community members each year.

While we're teaching gardening, we're also sharing the gospel and arranging pastoral visitations. We believe that gardening is a great way to bring people together and build community, and we're so grateful for the opportunity to do this work.
If you're interested in learning more about our project, please give us a call. We'd love to have you join us!

Feeding Scheme / Soup Kitchen

by Siya Zotani

We thank God for today's Soup Kitchen. We received the Word from Isaiah 55: 1-3.

The main message from these verses is that God is our living water. He invites us to come to him without any money. So, two kinds of people are invited by the Lord: the thirsty who are broke and cannot pay (v1), and the thirsty who think they can pay and work their way to satisfaction (v2).

The conclusion was that, if you are distant from God, you need to come and draw near to God. You need to accept Jesus Christ as your personal saviour. He is willing to accept you and you will receive eternal life (Jn 4:14)🙏🏼

by Siya Zotani
Today our brother Siya preached during our soup kitchen. He preached from Luke 18:41-43
42 Jesus said to him, “Then see! Your faith has made you well.”

43 At once he was able to see, and he followed Jesus, giving thanks to God. When the crowd saw it, they all praised God.

In 2015 we started a sewing project. We aimed to help the community so that they can learn, have a skill, and be able to sell their product so that they can put food on their tables. It gives us great joy when we see these ladies showing off what they have made with their own hands.

PAST EVENTS

WATER TANKS

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Tim Bertrand of Alveo Water (PTY) LTD for sponsoring us with five 5000L water tanks and installing them for us, along with a water purifier.

In the past few years, we have had serious issues with water billing. This sponsorship has been a Godsend, as it has allowed us to ensure a reliable water supply for our preschool. We use a lot of water, especially during the winter months, so this sponsorship will be invaluable.

We are very grateful for Mr. Bertrand's generosity and thoughtfulness. His donation has made a significant difference to our organization, and we are truly thankful.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

We are excited to announce that we will be returning to our previous children's ministry schedule this year. Children's church will now be held on Wednesdays, and we are grateful for the group of volunteers who have stepped up to serve in this ministry.

We are also pleased to announce that we will be starting a new teenagers' ministry this coming Friday. We know that there are many children who have graduated from children's ministry and are now ready for a more challenging and in-depth ministry experience. We pray that this new ministry will be a blessing to our teenagers and that they will come to know our Lord Jesus Christ through it.

We would appreciate your prayers for our children's and teenagers' ministries. Please pray for the leaders of these ministries as they minister to our children and teenagers. Pray that they will be filled with the Holy Spirit and that they will have wisdom and discernment in leading these ministries. Pray also that our children and teenagers will come to know our Lord Jesus Christ and that they will be transformed by His love.

Finally, please pray for our upcoming camps this year. We believe that these camps will be a great opportunity for our children and teenagers to grow in their faith and to learn more about our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray that the weather will be good and that the camps will be safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Thank you for your continued support of our children's and teenagers' ministries. We are grateful for your prayers and for your willingness to serve in these ministries.
